Narrative

This lot is produced via the team at Finagro/ Edelweiss Coffee Estate, Tanzania. This coffee undergoes a 4-day pre-fermentation process under UV-protective black plastic, pitched like a tent to prevent scorching the cherries. It is turned thrice daily. Afterward, it is pulped and dry fermented in open tiled tanks for 48 hours until the pH reaches 4.2, indicating readiness for washing. The coffee is then shade dried for 3 days and sun dried in intermittent full sun and shade for 7-10 days, reaching 11% moisture content. Finally, it is conditioned in bins for stability before being hermetically bagged for storage. At Finagro, love for land, community, and African wildlife is the driver. They preserve and manage the stunning landscape for future generations, coexisting with elephants and buffalo.

When you buy this product, mangrove trees are planted on your behalf in either Madagascar, Mozambique, or Kenya. This gives crucial income to local villagers so they can provide for their families.

Mangrove forests are essential coastal ecosystems. They store four times as much carbon as even tropical rainforest, making them an important tool to mitigate climate change.

The trees are planted by Eden Reforestation Projects.
