Narrative

Wilder Lazo only began farming coffee after taking over his family’s coffee farm and choosing to rehabilitate it. Before this, Wilder was a practising Veterinarian. To rehabilitate the farm, Wilder began by nurturing the soil back to health to achieve an optimal and stable pH level. By having enriched soil, good pre-existing biodiversity on the farm, and a wealth of processing knowledge, Wilder can produce coffees that are complex, unique and delicious. In October 2022, one of Wilder’s coffees placed 2nd in the Colombian Barista Championship. Not only is Wilder a prominent figure in the coffee-growing community of San Adolfo but he also purchases coffee cherries from neighbouring farms which he processes himself, creating his own “regional” blend.
