This lot represents coffee contributed to Uraga Wet Mill by around 670 smallholder producers in Yabetome, a town in the district of Uraga, Guji Zone, Oromia Region, Ethiopia. The mill is managed by Mitiku Alemayehu, who also contributes coffee to this lot. Most of the coffee in this area is grown under the shade of Wanza, Zigba, Kerero, and Enset, all of which are trees with large canopies and tall statures. There are many benefits to shade-grown coffee other than the positive impact it can have on cup quality and flavour. Some environmental and ecological benefits include greater species diversity and habitat retention (which encourages natural pest control and pollination), better soil conservation, greater carbon sequestration, and much more.

𝗩𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆: Heirloom
𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Fermented for 36 to 48 hours
𝗗𝗿𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴: Dried on raised beds for 10 to 15 days. Raked periodically to ensure consistent drying, and covered during the hottest parts of the day for protection against sun, and at night for protection against rain.
