This lot comprises coffee from seven different farms owned by the Rodríguez family. The Rodríguez family are innovative and methodical in their approach to coffee production. For instance, all of their coffee trees are grown and organised by variety. This is done to maximise efficiency during harvesting and to simplify the cherry sorting process. An example of their innovation includes their use of “stationery box dryers". These dryers are steel containers that use a flow of warm air to dry coffee slowly and consistently from below the coffee bed (the dryers are usually used in peanut production). The Rodríguez Family endeavour to make each farm a “model” from which other coffee producers in the region can learn from.
