Narrative

This coffee represents the lots of eighteen smallholder producers across five different municipalities in Colombia: Rio Chiquito, Paez, Inzá, China Alta and Laureles. The average smallholder farm size is around one and a half hectares, and the majority of the producers grow Castillo, Colombia, and Caturra variety coffee trees on their farms. These varieties are well known for being high-yielding and resistant to coffee leaf rust. The post-harvest processing of this lot involved fermenting the coffee with the fruit partially intact for 48 hours in tanks. The lot was then dried on parabolic beds for 10 to 18 days.
