This coffee comes from the Nkamwayacu Cooperative in Muyinga, northeastern Burundi. Established in 2006 by local farmers, the cooperative has grown to include 335 members. Nkamwayacu Co-op is committed to improving the quality of life of its members. Over the year, investments have been made in initiatives to ensure high-quality processing, provide audit and traceability training, as well as the husbandry of cows to achieve organic manure. With their plans to purchase vehicles for the transport of coffee and provide educational and social development opportunities, the co-op is poised to make a positive impact in their community for years to come.
