Moanti Ise

Moanti Ise is from the Dunattina Region and is one of very few recognised female coffee entrepreneurs,
having successfully established a parchment buying network within her owncommunity and building her business from a “scale on the road” to having
several buying points and village setting storage facilities.
Moanti coffee is grown almost entirely in small coffee gardens situated on mountain ridges and farmed by a network of smallholder producers in the Henganofi District of the Eastern Highlands Province.

Cherries are handpicked and pulped at farm level using hand eco pulpers before being sun dried on raised beds. Once dried the parchment is collected and taken to one of the Moanti buying points and on to the Moanti Dry Mill for processing.

When you buy this product, mangrove trees are planted on your behalf in either Madagascar, Mozambique, or Kenya. This gives crucial income to local villagers so they can provide for their families.

Mangrove forests are essential coastal ecosystems. They store four times as much carbon as even tropical rainforest, making them an important tool to mitigate climate change.

The trees are planted by Eden Reforestation Projects.
