Erick + German de La Roca Garavito

Nougat / Orange / Chocolate

This coffee was produced by the de La Roca Garavito brothers, Erick and German. Their farm, La Esperanza, is 12 hectares in size. It was originally a 25 hectare plot, owned by the brother's grandfather, Hector de La Roca Pérez. It was later divided and shared amongst the family. La Esperanza is nestled on the slopes of Volcan Acatenango in Guatemala and is currently being managed by Eulogio Miculax. Erick and German dedicate their weekends to focusing on the development of the farm in an effort to harbor the farm's potential for quality and to nurture its capacity for possibility. The brothers have worked on this by planting a range of coffee varieties to help nourish the soil and by focusing on replenishing the coffee trees themselves, with the oldest trees on the farm being planted in 2008.
