Narrative

Bumbogo Washing Station is located in Gakenke District, in Northern Province, Rwanda. The Gakenke District is very well known for its coffee production, and coffees from this region have won several Cup of Excellence competitions in recent years. Muraho Trading Co. partner with Bumbogo Washing Station, and together with Raw Material (the green exporter from whom we purchased this coffee), they aim to help affiliated co-operatives improve their production quality, realise better prices for their coffee, and increase their market access. Emmanual Rusatira is in charge of operations at Bumbogo Washing Station, and is Director of Quality at Muharo Trading Co. The station was built in 2017, and since its inception, coffee production has more than doubled.
