Seb: Hello and welcome to Turning Point from Timely Coffees. My name is Seb. I'm one of the co-founders here and this is a video series that we use to talk about different things that are happening in the coffee industry. Our approach to them at Timely and also some new developments you can expect from us in the future. So today we're going to be talking about some of the new roasting services and products we're going to be releasing in the next few weeks. So we already run a shade roasting facility where coffee roasters or coffee professionals and café owners can come and they can book out time on our 15 kilo roaster and they can roast their own coffee exactly how they want it. They can have as much control over the product as they like. Or we can provide as much help and support and assistance as they need as well. Some people bring their own coffee in from their own suppliers. Some people want to buy coffee from us and help and use our network to source coffee with them. But a lot of the time people want to have as much control as they can so they source all of their own coffee. They bring it in. They roast to themselves. And then this really enables them and empowers them to have complete control over their own product and their own roasting.
Seb: So this is a service that we've been providing for a while, and it's one that we've been really proud of. One of the things that's always been important to us is the idea of accessibility. We want to create a brand and an experience of being open and approachable and one where people feel like they can come to us and ask for help or support or information. And we are in a position to be able to provide that to them. So the roasting service that we provide is really an extension of that idea that if you want to roast your own coffee, we can help you get there. If you want to learn more about roasting, we can help that as well. If you want to learn more about green, if you want to buy your own green and have a source of for you, if you just want to have your own custom blend and you want to help us design it, then we can do all of those things. The idea with this service at Timely is that you come to us with your idea and we all figure out a way to make it happen. The I the idea behind this is to create something where the the power and the freedom is all in the hands of the customer.
Seb: So we enjoyed doing this so much. We're actually going to start offering a very similar service to coffee drinkers. So this is our new one kilo coffee roaster. This is called the bullet. And very soon you're going to be able to book time with us, the roasters at Timely, to roast your own coffee here at Timely Coffees. So this means that it's a really good entry for people. If you've never tried roasting coffee before or if you have an interest in maybe learning more about coffee, how the system works, how the processing works, and everything that goes into kind of sourcing great green coffee and roasting it. If you are in a cafe or you are interested in maybe exploring some sort of coffee business. And this is a really good way to get involved in it as well, because you don't need to dive straight in and roast, you know, 20, 30, 40 kilos of coffee a week for all of your customers. You can come and just start roasting maybe one or two kilos and see if it kind of works for you and see what the roasting process is like. And, and just try the idea of voicing your coffee before you commit fully to doing it on your own. So along with this, we're also going to be offering some some more barista classes and we're going to be offering more experiences and events and content and education here at Timely so that we can really realise this idea of creating a brand of accessibility.
Seb: We want to have a system where people can come to us and they can learn as much as they possibly want about coffee, and they can do so in a way that is really accepting and really approachable. And it's more about us giving them the knowledge than us teaching them exactly how to do things. We just want to create a system where we can provide the tools and the environment for people to learn about coffee. And really we want to make sure that the the industry itself is as accessible and open to everyone as possible. If you just have a café way of roasting five kilos a week, you should be able to roast during coffee and you should be able to have the same amount of control over your own coffee. As someone who does 200 kilos of weight does just because a café is busy, or just because a café or only does a small amount of coffee. We still want that that we still want that business to be able to have the same amount of control.
Seb: And if you're a coffee consumer and you are eager to learn more, you should have that avenue as well. So this is the path we're on at Timely. And these are a few of the things that we're going to be releasing. We're really excited about what's going to be happening over the next few weeks. So if you are interested, make sure you get in touch with me. Send me an email at seb@timelycoffees.com.au and share with me exactly what you want to see first. If you really are interested in coffee roasting, let me know if you really interested in doing some coffee tasting or you want to do some barista classes. Let me know what's important to you and then I can try and tailor exactly what we're going to be releasing next to exactly what majority of people want to learn first. And then we can kind of stagger out all of our events based on that. So it's a little bit about our roasting facility. If you've got any questions, like I said, send me an email at seb@timelycoffees.com.au And keep an eye out on the newsletter and the journal for some events as they come out very soon. That's all I got and we'll have a weekly coming out on Monday. Thanks very much.
