Last week, Jakarta hosted World of Coffee Asia, one of the region’s most significant specialty coffee events. The event brought together thousands of professionals from across the coffee supply chain: producers, roasters, traders, baristas, equipment manufacturers, and green coffee buyers.

We were proud to send our roasting team, Kealan and Saffron, to represent Timely at the event. This marks the first time Timely has ever been present at an international coffee expo, and for us, this was a huge deal. Events like this are a way to build stronger relationships, connect with different businesses and people across the coffee supply chain, taste new and exciting coffees, and stay informed about the challenges and innovations shaping the global industry.

One of the most special parts of the trip was collaborating with our long-time partner, The Wolf Espresso. If you don’t already know, The Wolf is led by Rani, who has been roasting at Timely for years. Rani is the owner of several successful cafés in both Perth and Jakarta, including The Wolf Espresso Indonesia. While in Jakarta, we were lucky enough to be hosted by The Wolf for a bar takeover. Saffron and Kealan brewed a selection of our favourite coffees as pour overs, giving local customers and industry peers a chance to experience Timely’s approach to roasting and brewing firsthand.

During the takeover, they showcased some of the coffees currently featured in our catalogue, including Timely One, Mauricia Salaverria, and Acevedo Smallholders. Timely Three was also on offer as a batch brew. The event was a great opportunity to connect with a new audience, share ideas, and be part of the thriving specialty scene in Jakarta.

And to top it all off? Kealan and Saffron wrapped up the trip with a detour to Singapore to see Lady Gaga live. Not exactly coffee-related, but definitely iconic, and a great ending to an amazing trip!

Love Timely xx
