Best Served with a Good Book

At Timely, one of our core values is "Be Generous". For us, this can mean many things, from how we handle customer requests* to how we treat our suppliers. This means we spend a lot of time thinking about how we can give more to our customers and support other small businesses. One of our favourite ways to do so is by commissioning local or upcoming artists to design bookmarks to send out with coffee orders*. When we reached out to the artist of our latest bookmark, we were so impressed by their intent, care, and thoughtfulness that we had to share a little of what they had to say.

This artwork is by Yuiko Uto, and you can find more of their amazing artwork at https://buttonsinkart.com/

This image of figure (I call her ‘Lady’) is one of my character which is representing my current artworks. As a reader, I personally experience and feel as if I’m in a story/book while reading interesting books. So the idea is letting the lady lie down on the bookmark so she rests happily inside of a book while reader is having a break. I hope your customer enjoy putting her in their favourite books!

We do bookmarks because we want to remind our customers to take time out for themselves. After all, a cup of coffee doesn't have to be just a way to wake up in the morning. A cup of coffee can be a chance to take a moment just for yourself. For some people, this means reading a good book. For others, it might be watching your favourite sports team. Even if you don't read, keep your bookmark close to remember that taking care of yourself is just as important as taking care of everyone and everything else. If you don't need it, give it away to someone you care about and tell them the same thing. Timely Coffees are not just best served with a good book. They're best served alongside some intentional self-care.

*These commissions are all fully paid. There is no expectation of free artwork by artists. If an artist ever offered free artwork in exchange for being included the merchandise rotation, this would never be accepted.
